Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport
Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport (French: Aéroport de Paris Beauvais Tillé) (IATA: BVA, ICAO: LFOB) is a French airport, originally the small regional airport of the city of Beauvais. This airport was built in the 1930s and improved by the German army during the Second World War. In 1956, it was open to commercial use. After the founding of the low-cost carrier Ryanair, it became the third-largest Paris airport, the company having made Beauvais Tillé its Paris-area terminal. It is actually located in the community of Tillé, 3.5 km north-northeast (NNE) of Beauvais.
As of 2005, the airport had three gates, housed within a marquee tent while the permanent facilities were being redeveloped. The airport is not serviced by public transport; many passengers use a private scheduled coach for a 75-minute trip to Paris, ending beside the Palais de Congrès, located in the 17th arrondissement, approximately a kilometre west of the Arc de Triomphe.
